1. The requirements for the digital nomad visa

The digital nomad visa is created for any non-EU- foreigner planning to live in Spain as a resident and working remotely for a company or an employer (as well as self-employed) located outside of the Spanish national territory.

  • The applicant is using computer telematics and telecommunication media and systems for his work.
  • When the applicant is self-employed, he/she can also work for a company located in Spain, as long as the percentage of this particular work doesn´t exceed 20% of the total amount of his/her professional activity.
  • The applicant must have an undergraduate or postgraduate degree from an University, College or Business School of prestige, or have at least 3 years of work experience in his/her current field of activity.

  • Also, family members (spouse, unmarried partner, dependent children and relatives

  • The applicant must apply for a Spanish NIE number prior to the visa application.

The time for a digital nomad visa application is about 30-90 days fromteh momet when all documents are available. But please respect, just the NIE application can take between 30 and 40 days and some consulates are pretty busy.

2. The fees for the Digital Nomad visa application

A non-EU citizen has to apply for the digital nomad visa.

Fix fee for the Digital Nomad visa is €2,400 Euro.

Fix fee for a digital nomad visa incl. Spanish NIE: €2,900.00.

Fix fee for a Digital Nomad visa including the setup of a Spanish company or a freelancer application (autonomo): €4,900.
